Mr Allan Dale Mr Allan Dale - Executive Officer, Terrain NRM

 

 

 

Dr. Allan Dale is the Chief Executive Officer of Terrain Natural Resource Management, the Regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) Body for Queensland's Wet Tropics. He previously played a significant role in the establishment of regional arrangements for NRM in Queensland, and led a number of strategic policy initiatives within the Department of Natural Resources and Mines. Allan has a long research background in natural resources planning (including CSIRO and Griffith University) and has global experience in managing social aspects of NRM. 

 


 


Mr Lindsay DelzoppoMr Lindsay Delzoppo – Director Planning Services, Qld Environmental Protection Agency

 

 

Lindsay is responsible for planning for the management and protection of wetlands, biodiversity, water quality and coastal resources in Qld.

Lindsay co-chairs the Queensland Wetlands Taskforce and is a member the Joint Government Steering Committee responsible for Natural Resource Management under the Natural Heritage Trust.

Lindsay has been with the EPA since 1992 – working in such diverse areas as:

• crocodile removal;
• clean-up of contaminated land;
• renewable energy incentive schemes;
• marine dredge spoil disposal; and
• management of national parks & marine parks in Far North Qld.

Lindsay holds degrees in Biological Sciences and Civil Engineering.  

 


 
Prof Bruce G ThomProf Bruce G Thom BA (Hons), PhD, FIAG, FTSE

 

 

 


Formerly Vice-Chancellor University of New England (1994-1996), Professor Thom has held positions such as Foundation Professor of Geography, Royal Military College, Duntroon (University of New South Wales, 1977-1984); Professor of Geography University of Sydney (1985-1993); and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research, University of Sydney (1990-1993). He holds the title of Emeritus Professor from University of Sydney.  Professor Thom served as Chair of the Australian State of Environment Committee 1998-2002, and as Chair of the Coastal Council of New South Wales (1999-2004).  He is Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Built Environment at the University of NSW. He served as the Visiting Professor for Coastal Management and Planning at the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources in Sydney. He also formerly held the position of Visiting Professor in the NSW Department of Planning. Professor Thom is a member of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists. 

 


 


Mr Neil LazarowMr Neil Lazarow – Griffith Centre for Coastal Management, Griffith University

 

 

 


Neil Lazarow is a Research Fellow at the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. He has previously worked in academia, industry and the NGO sector. He maintains an extensive network of contacts with agencies and community sector organisations and is an active participant within the Not-For-Profit sector. Neil is a current member of the State (Qld) Coastal Protection Advisory Committee and the Gold Coast Waterfutures Committee.

He recently completed his PhD in public policy and coastal resource management at the Australian National University and in 2006 was lead editor in the production of a new book: Coastal Management in Australia; Key Institutional and Governance Issues for Coastal Natural Resource Management. Neil’s research interests include coastal planning and management, community engagement, public policy, economics, anthropology, tourism and recreation.
